Peterborough Ontario In The Kawarthas

Peterborough, Ontario is a city of just over 70,000 people located in the heart of the Kawarthas. The city is a very beautiful place with a great balance of city life with the calm of the great outdoors sprinkled in. Once known as a retirement community, as of late the city of Peterborough has seen a surge in tourism especially during the summer months as it is so close to cottage country.

But that’s not all this great city has to offer. On the two sides of the city are a thriving University and College, (Trent University and Sir Sandford Fleming College) which ignites the downtown nightlife with some real spark during the school year. There are a number of great clubs to visit as well as some fantastic dining and great shopping in the downtown core.

Unknown to many is the sightseeing possibilities in Peterborough. The city actually has the largest lift lock system in all of North America and has some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Ontario.

That’s not to mention some of the fantastic sports teams in Peterborough. The Petes are the biggest draw, the team is one of the better teams in the OHL and really presents a great presence in the city. There has been many NHL stars born in the Petes team and there will also be many more to come.

Really understanding the kind of life Peterborough, Ontario has to offer is one of the major advantages to living there. There is a calm that takes over the city and presents itself as one of the most beautiful places to live in Ontario.

There is a little bit for everyone in Peterborough, no matter if you are interested in outdoors sports or are more of a city slicker and would rather shop and go for coffee downtown there is something for you in this city.
