The power of Television is not to be underestimated. Watching a documentary one night some shots of the Montreal Biodome were included and we found it fascinating to see some of the ecosystems of the American continents. The initial walk into the tropical rain forest was a warming one after the very cool temperatures outside. All the plants and animals were part of the South American rainforests. The rain forests are rapidly being cut down so to see a replica at close quarters was great. The monkey cute, but he was shy of having his photo taken! The animals all appeared to be happy in their environment, despite the happy chattering and wonder of many schoolchildren, admittedly a little too noisy perhaps.

Oh, the seas you could sail if you only knew how. By taking sailing courses, you open yourself to a whole new world of adventure you’ve never imagined! Keep in mind that you will need to research sailing schools as you would any other school. You may want to look for one that offers either weekday or weekend classes, depending on what works best for you. Or, you may want to be in a smaller class, rather than a large group.

Depending on the location, however, non-tidal courses may not be an option. On tidal waters, it is not as easy to focus on the navigation training while on the water.

Peterborough, Ontario is a city of just over 70,000 people located in the heart of the Kawarthas. That’s not to mention some of the fantastic sports teams in Peterborough. The Petes are the biggest draw, the team is one of the better teams in the OHL and really presents a great presence in the city. There has been many NHL stars born in the Petes team and there will also be many more to come.

Admirers of James Braid, Scotland’s internationally renowned course architect, will be interested to hear that two James Braid golf ‘trails’ are located in Perthshire. The Gleneagles Trail, which covers Gleneagles King’s Course, Gleneagles Queen’s Course, Taymouth Castle, Alloa (also known as Schawpark) and Crieff Fertower), features outstanding heathland courses and spectacular settings. Superb inland golf is promised on the other James Braid golf trail in Perthshire – named the Angus Golf Trail – which covers Edzell, Forfar, Alyth, Blairgowrie Rosemount and Downfield.
